This was by far the best campground I have ever stayed out. We came here after ditching Fairholme campground because it was too noisy. We showed up at 11am on a Friday and half of E loop was empty. We stay in site 91 which is nicely tucked at the end of the loop away from the road and other campsites. The site itself has excellent privacy from other sites around. The loop was 25%-50% and we felt like we were alone. It was so quiet we could sleep without the noise machine we needed at Hoh and Mora campgrounds. You really feel like you're in the trees. You are far from the restroom which is shared with C loop. Be aware that there were a ton of mosquitoes so bring bug spray or a candle. Another pro is you are 20 minutes from Hurricane Ridge and 25 minutes from Hurricane Hill. Right now the road to Hurricane Ridge is limiting the amount of cars up the top. However if you stay at the campground you get to go up ever after the road is closed to everyone else. You are also 15 minutes from Port Angeles if you run out of supplies. Honestly would recommend 100000%

It's first come first serve. We got there at 830a on a Friday in summer and most all the campsites were available. There was no firewood for sale but port Angeles is a short drive and the Safeway had it. Our fire pit was kinda messed up where the grill was too low and warped so the pans were tilted on it. The bathrooms aren't great but they are usable. There's no showers and no soap in the bathrooms. The washing area for dishes is also not ideal. You have to bend down and a spray happy push on the faucet. The campsites are pretty close together so I didn't feel we had great privacy. However our neighbors were respectful and quiet so was ok. The surroundings in the park are just beautiful and we were able to do a hike and go kayaking. So campsite was ok but definitely room for improvement.

This is one of my favorite trails! The campsites are so beautiful! If you are near Port Angeles or headed up to Hurricane Ridge I would highly recommend you stop and do this Trail and also go camping. It is just right off the main road about 5 miles up the road. About 15 minutes from downtown Port Angeles. Like the posts before me have indicated it is a first come first serve and they do not take reservations.

Very nice campground, quiet and well taken care of. There is no river or lake but lots of hiking trails and you are in the forest.

Awesome place! The staff is super friendly. Told them I was disabled and they gave me an access pass where I can get into every national park for free admission and if I want to camp I get 1/2 off the price. Campsites are truly awesome with huge trees and lots of trails and wildlife. Very Quiet. Almost too quiet. Can’t have camp fires most of the time like back in the day.so it doesn’t compare to todays meaning of camping. The best part of camping was sleeping in a tent and roasting marshmallows hearing the campfires in each site crackle. Today you don’t hear a peep. Everyone’s sleeping in their luxurious rv watching tv . Other then missing those days , heart of the hills is gonna be the closest thing to it that you’ll find. The restrooms are always immaculate clean as well.

Only loop A is open at this time. So very quiet & beautiful. Didn't see any people/campers. Walked 3 of the closed camping loops. Thoroughly enjoyed our walking experience. Might come back and camp in our RV.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night and thankfully we had no trouble finding a site despite not having a reservation. There are no showers and there was no electrical hook up for our RV. Given it's off season, some of the loops were closed so my guess is other campsites do have facilities for a RV. We were able to pay for entrance and one nights stay with our credit card which was great.

I stayed here last weekend, and I'm really glad I found this place! Each campsite has a nice flat section for your tent, a heavy duty picnic table, and a fire pit. There are 5 different loops to choose from, and each loop has a men's and women's bathroom with running water. My suggestion is to drive up Hurricane Ridge to the visitor's center and take some photos. The views are phenomenal.
